Odoo Functional Consultant — Accounting Experience

About the role
We're hiring an Odoo Functional Consultant with accounting experience to lead the finance side of our Odoo projects.
You'll configure Odoo Accounting — charts of accounts, taxes, journals, payment terms, bank reconciliation, multi-currency and multi-company — and make sure the setup satisfies the client's finance team and external accountants, including German localization and DATEV-related requirements on some projects.
Responsibilities
- Configure Odoo Accounting and Invoicing for new implementations
- Set up charts of accounts, fiscal positions, taxes and localization packages
- Configure bank feeds, reconciliation models and payment workflows
- Migrate opening balances and open items; reconcile results
- Build financial reports and support month-end and year-end processes
- Train finance teams and support them after go-live
Requirements
- 2+ years of Odoo functional experience with the Accounting app
- Accounting qualification or finance background (ACCA, CA, B.Com/M.Com or similar)
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, VAT/sales tax and financial reporting
- Clear communication in English with finance stakeholders
Nice to have
- Multi-company and multi-currency Odoo setups
- Experience with German, UK or GCC tax localization
- Knowledge of DATEV exports or e-invoicing (XRechnung/ZUGFeRD)

About this role
Do I need to be a qualified accountant?+
A formal qualification or strong finance background is required; ACCA/CA part-qualified candidates are welcome.
Will I work on international accounting setups?+
Yes — including European (e.g. German) and GCC clients with their own tax rules.
How is this different from the Odoo Accountant role?+
This is a consulting role: you implement Odoo Accounting for clients. The Odoo Accountant role handles bookkeeping inside Odoo.
